I do not think anything is wrong with me if the election of our first African-American president didn’t leave me teary-eyed and did not make me more proud of my country that I have been always proud of.
Sorry, Mr. Krugman, but your verdict can be hardly accepted as a moral authority.
Although, this election did stir me.
I never thought it would be a such strong feeling of rejection wrong ideological views Obama and his party are about to impose on the Nation both politically, economically and culturally.
What upsets me a lot there is no real ideologically mature opposition to this looming disaster.
I can tell you why people never learn from own mistakes.
Because they attempt to do that by making the very same mistakes.
That is precisely what I currently observe on the Republican side.
One should recognize that neither modern liberalism ("progressive philosophy"), nor very much admired by me conservatism are true developed IDEOLOGIES.
They are just ideological views that allow liberals to use and manipulate wrong ideologies (Socialism and/or National Socialism to obtain Power
(Read more...), and let conservatives to preach "ideology of no ideology" and be hypocritical by saying: "Read my lips: no more taxes", or "smaller government" never keep their word.
One may argue that IDEOLOGY is a root of a related ideological view. That is correct, but the latter is not necessarily matures to a level of Ideology.
That is why Ideology should not be ever substituted for ideological views.
What a good start for Republicans to mature ideologically, after all!
To me the only true Ideology is the Ideology of the Constitution of the United States merging absolute Ethics and perfect Esthetics.
It is a paramount in practical wisdom and profundity.
It is that Invisible Hand that forms one's soul and one's mind.
It is a merge of practical ideas and ideals one may with no reservation pledge one's Life, one's Fortune, and one's sacred Honor.
I do believe in the Divine Nature and the Invisible Hand of the Constitution, and they are capable of making true miracles for the Nation politically, economically and culturally.
Is something wrong with me?
Frankly, I could not care less.
If the entire population of the United States is not with the Ideology of the Constitution, I am with absolute Ethics and perfect Esthetics of the Constitution and not with wrong and/or eclectic ideological views of the population.
That is my verdict, Mr. Krugman!
Therefore, if the election of our first African-American president didn't leave your teary-eyed and did not make you more proud of your country that you have been always proud of, there is nothing wrong with you either, regardless of what a Nobel Prize winner Mr. Krugman authoritatively said.
